Easton Robotics is forming teams for designing and prototyping the next generation platform of ermmi™, our robotics system for small farms. We are hiring for the following positions in Easton, Maryland, US:
Robotics Engineer, full-time – design and develop components of the ermmi™ platform for small farm robotics. Teams may work on one or more subsystems. Some work will include developing the foundation platform, including drive train, motors, and structure. Other components and teams will include the design of the arms and implements, the power systems, electronics, vision and guidance systems, location systems, and system integration. Hands-on experience in CAD programs, either Solidworks or AutoCAD; project management and collaboration tools, such as Slack, Teams, Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, repository tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket; and some programming experience in Python or C++ are required. Hands-on experience with vision systems, image recognition, motors and encoders, and navigation controls are essential. Work Experience: Minimum six months experience in a relevant position. Education experience: minimum Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or physics. Masters degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or electrical engineering is strongly encouraged. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Agricultural Engineer, full-time – design and develop components of the ermmi™ platform. This is a hands-on equipment design and development position. Work will include the design and development of the arms, implements, and control systems for carrying out tasks common to small farming. Hands-on experience with CAD programs, either Solidworks or AutoCAD, project management and collaboration tools such as Slack and Teams, Jira, Trello, MS Project are required. Knowledge of farm vehicles, farm implements, and farming in general are critical. Minimum of one year experience in a related field is essential. Hands-on experience with tractors, tillers, combines, disks, seeders, sprayers, cultipackers and other implements is required; precision ag is a plus. Education experience: minimum Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, agronomy, business, or science and engineering. Graduate degree is a big plus. Strong verbal and written communication are required.
Software Engineer, full-time – design and develop software components for control applications, cloud-based data collection and reporting, data analysis and reporting, and control for movement of the robot. Hands-on experience in the LAMP stack, AWS or Azure, security controls in a cloud environment, and programming experience in: C, C++, C#, Python, Assembly. Experience in web languages is a big plus: CSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript. Experience in MySQL, MongoDB, or MS SQLServer are required. Work Experience: Minimum six months experience in a relevant position. Education experience: minimum Bachelors degree in a relevant field. Strong verbal and written communication are required.
Office Manager, part-time – coordinate schedules, track projects, general bookkeeping, general office administration. 10-20 hours per week is typical. Skills required: excellent verbal and written communication, excellent customer service attitude, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), filing methods. Work Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a similar environment. Education: High School diploma is required. College experience is a big plus.
All positions are based in Easton, MD. Remote work may be possible, but periodic meetings will be held in Easton for these; in-person attendance is also required for hands-on work, construction, testing, and field work. You must have your own transportation and you must be able to liftr 50 pounds or more in order to do the job.
All positions require a highly motivated, self-sufficient, and self-confident individual. If you are not one of those, this is the wrong place for you. Our work environment is very flexible, and as a start-up company, we have little structure to guide you if you are not self-directed. You must be good with your hands and like to try new things. If you like farming, growing crops, and working outdoors, even better.
